Parva Snan & other bathing days

Between the royal baths, several Parva Snan — auspicious bathing days falling on amavasya, purnima and ekadashi tithis through the Mela period — offer the merit of a Kumbh dip with far smaller crowds. They're often the smartest choice for families with elders or young children. We'll list the exact 2027 Parva Snan dates here as they are confirmed; in the meantime, tell us your travel window and we'll point you to the best bathing day within it.

How long is the Mela?

Officially the Simhastha opens with the flag hoisting on 31 October 2026, but for pilgrims the part that matters — the main public bathing — is concentrated in July to September 2027, peaking around the three Shahi Snan days. If you're planning a trip, build it around the bath you want to attend rather than the full span.

Planning around the calendar

Once you've picked your date, the rest follows: lock your stay early (rooms near the ghats vanish around Snan days), sort your travel, and read our tips & safety guide. Or let us handle all of it with a tour package built around your chosen Snan.

Pick your date. We'll plan the rest.

Tell us which Snan you want to attend and how many of you there are — we'll build the whole trip around it.
