Real, on-the-ground help for your Kumbh trip: the Snan dates the moment they're official, honest advice on the ghats and the crowds, how to get here, where to stay, and tours planned around your family. Put together by people who actually live in Nashik.
Every twelve years, when Jupiter (Guru) enters Leo — Simha rashi — the Godavari at Nashik draws the akharas, sadhus and millions of pilgrims for the holy bath. The last Nashik Simhastha was in 2015. The next one is 2027, and the city has already started preparing for it.
These are the three royal-bath days announced for the 2027 Simhastha. The Mela opens with the flag hoisting (Dhwajarohan) on 31 October 2026.
The opening royal bath on Ashadh Somvati Amavasya — considered the most spiritually powerful dip.
The grandest day of the Mela, on Shravan Amavasya, drawing the largest crowds.
The closing royal bath — 11 Sep at Nashik (Ramkund), 12 Sep at Trimbakeshwar.

View mapsThe Kumbh overwhelms most first-timers. Tens of millions of people, schedules that shift at short notice, and very little stay close to the ghats. We help you settle all of that before you arrive, so the day itself stays calm.
Each itinerary covers stay, transport, guided darshan and help at the Snan. Tell us your dates and how many of you there are, and we'll shape the rest around that.
Arrive, bathe at the ghat with someone to guide you, darshan at Kalaram and Kapaleshwar, and back the same day.

The Simhastha happens at two linked places. One is Ramkund in Nashik, on the Godavari. The other is Trimbakeshwar, about 28 km away, where the Godavari begins and a Jyotirlinga sits. A lot of pilgrims visit both.
Nashik is well connected by road and rail. It's roughly 165 km from Mumbai and 210 km from Pune. The nearest airports are Mumbai and Nashik's own at Ozar. Our travel guide goes into routes, timings and how transport works during the Mela.
